On 24th May 2024, Snowdon Retail (Fore Street) Limited agreed a 15-year lease with the landlord, Fatherford Properties Limited, for the premises at 8/9 Fore Street. We are part of the same family business behind Whitehouse Services (just off the A30 at Belstone) and Greenaways Garage, Launceston, and have traded within the EX20 postcode since 1980.

We were surprised to learn of Morrisons’ decision to pull out of Okehampton around this time last year and knew of the detrimental impact it would have on the town centre. Since then we have been determined to provide Okehampton with a similar retail outlet that would serve the community and visitors alike. Therefore, this Autumn we are looking forward to opening Budgens Fore Street.

Many people in Okehampton will be aware of our Budgens store at Whitehouse Services, and we aim to bring a familiar range of regional goods, household favourites and other vital services to Fore Street, creating at least 15 jobs along the way. As a local family business we hope to work closely with the Town Council, fellow retailers and community groups in making the best of this opportunity, and look forward to being involved in any plans the Business Improvement District team put forward for the town’s economic growth.
