Cost of living scam

Beware of a scam currently doing the rounds about a £900 cost of living payment.

Beware of a scam currently doing the rounds about a £900 cost of living payment.

The scammers will text you saying you have not yet received "your annual living allowance" and include a link to a convincing - but fake - webpage that promises a £900 payment if you share your credit or debit card details.

The fake website is an excellent replica of a gov.uk website, but to the well trained eye it is clearly a scam.  The web address - gov-subsidy.top - is among the giveaways. Be careful when you receive unsolicited text messages from numbers you don't know!
